AudioControl Lands New Maestro and Concert AV Receiver and Processor Range

Seattle's audio-video specialist, AudioControl, has landed its latest range of three new A/V receivers and two new A/V processors in Australia this week.

The company says “all five units share a stunning industrial design along with the most advanced technologies available, painstakingly engineered to be the foundation of a premium home cinema.”

Maestro Series Preamp/Processors

The Maestro X9 ($15,999 RRP)and Maestro X7 ($11,999 RRP) support the latest immersive surround formats, including 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos, Auro 3D, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced, with 16-channels of balanced and unbalanced output. Both models offer a full complement of inputs for connection to the latest audio/video components, including 7 HDMI 2.0b inputs that fully support 4K UHD and HDR playback.

AudioControl says its Maestro Series processors “house the very latest in audio and video processing technology, featuring Dirac Live room correction with bass management to overcome acoustic anomalies in any space. They also utilise ESS Sabre DACs “that ensure unprecedented levels of detail and clarity along with earth-shaking, authoritative bass response.”

There's also intuitive app-based control, Google Cast, Airplay 2, aptX Bluetooth and Wi-Fi streaming connectivity options as well as integrated web-based configuration and much more. All of this is wrapped up neatly in a new stunning industrial design.

Concert Series Audio/Video Receivers

For those that prefer a one-box solution, AudioControl's new Concert Series AV Receivers comprises three models; the Concert XR-8 ($11,999 RRP), Concert XR-6 ($8,499 RRP) and Concert XR-4 ($6,999 RRP). All three models are said to be packed with advanced cinema technologies, such as Dirac room correction and all of the popular surround formats that bring every cinematic experience to life.

The Concert XR-6 and Concert XR-8 also add AURO 3D, that AudioControl says is “one of the most sought after immersive formats available to consumers.”

Enthusiasts will also appreciate having six channels of user-configurable outputs, ideal for high-pass channels, additional subwoofers or height channels - whatever the room requires to optimise the movie experience.

The Concert Series AVRs feature stunning industrial design as well as 16-channels of output, integrated web-based configuration, intuitive app-based control, Google Cast, Airplay 2, aptX Bluetooth and Wi-Fi streaming connectivity so that they can become the perfect entertainment hub for everyone in the home.

Dirac Live Bass Control

Dirac Live Bass Control is included with AudioControl's Concert XR-8 and Concert XR-6 receivers and Maestro X7 and Maestro X9 preamp/processors. It is available for an additional cost for the Concert XR-4 receiver.

Dirac Live Bass Control uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to co-optimise the components of a sound system to deliver accurate, consistent bass throughout a room.

Niklas Thorin, Dirac's Head of Business Development, Home & Professional Audio, told StereoNET:

Bass performance suffers when the sound waves from speakers and subwoofers start to bounce around a room. Dirac Live Bass Control dynamically measures and phase-corrects speakers and subwoofers across all frequencies in order to produce superior bass clarity and enhanced bass tone evenness throughout a room. Home theater audio has never sounded so rich and precise, as users of AudioControl's leading AVRs and preamp/processors can now attest.

Dirac Live Bass Control aggregates measurement and location data from each subwoofer to determine how a system's bass is distributed in a room. Then, it identifies gaps in the sound waves and distributes bass evenly. Additionally, this intelligent audio software corrects the low-frequency sound waves produced by other speakers so that the bass produced by each speaker is in sync with the overall system. The result of such intelligent processing means you have greater flexibility in subwoofer placement.

The new AudioControl Concert and Maestro Series products are available now.
