    Fair enough Jabz,at least send an email to their head office explaining all the drama you had to go through and how they pretty much backed you into a corner to take up one of their "special" offers. Best of luck with that...who knows...someone up high may have second thoughts???? Vote with your feet and never buy another Sony TV again.

    Reading this thread and all that have contributed, I would hazard a guess that not too many on here would consider a sony

    I wish I could have taken the issue off your hands jabz, I'd do it for the justice and be very happy wasting their time and money while I argue for a fair solution. What you got is not fair.

    lol the insanity continues, I attempted to send an email to the NZ GM of Marketing, Matt Walton-Smith, I couldnt workout the address as his firstname.lastname @ap.sony.com bounces back.

    So I called the Sony customer care line 0800 and asked if I could please have Matt Walton-Smith's email address I even said he is their GM of marketing.
    The person on the line said yes please wait while I put you on hold. I was on hold for 5 mintues and he comes back and says sorry we don't have his email address, I was silent for about 20secs then said you work at the same company!? Just look it up! He said they don't have it and that he can help me with any queries, I said No and hung up.

    Surprisingly I received a call from the Sony relations group in Aus while leaving work and after reviewing my email they offered a replacement EX720 at zero cost! So thats a good outcome Sony came to the party after a bit of pressure and now I don't feel as ripped off. It's a start to restore my faith in their brand.

    Excellent news! What size are they giving you?

    It doesn't excuse the runaround they gave you considering how infamous those TVs are, but it's a good result nonetheless.

    Thats awesome news Jabz...someone higher up did have second thoughts yaaaaay. I might have to take back "some" of what i said about Sony,shock horror. As long as its not a 32EX720 Hopefully they will do whats right and give you the 60"(like Frizzup)...keep us posted on what they decide to give you.

    Its the 60EX720, interestingly it's has a lower RRP than the 55EX720

    Hmmmm. I have been thinking....perhaps the Aus "Relations Group" guys read Audioenz???? What other explanation is there?
