    The half-inch speaker on my laptop brought out the best in them!

    Sweet! You can tell they will sound good! I'd also love some big old JBL's.

    I think image specificity could be better ... I'd have them a few mms further apart.

    I think that given a reasonable recording you can discern speaker characteristics on youtube - but maybe I am crazy...

    Certainly this showroom has good recordings and with all the videos being in the same room the differences are pretty easiliy heard.

    One thing's for sure you don't get that drum sound with mini-monitors!

    All of the above, sometimes gross differences can be heard but in general the best you can surmise is that the system is working.

    Those big Technics sound just as coloured as big vintage JBLs.

    Agreed, no color is a black and white, Boring! A BIT of colour is a good thing I'd love a set of big vintage JBL's the same as I'd like a nice vintage Notch back Mustang or Tear drop Stingray even if they don't go around corners or stop when required
