they look pretty cool - just like a nice set of rims! Pity you wont be able to see them once they're on...

OK, here is a shot of chassis parts on the laser cutter.... that's 5mm aluminium...
Well I hope you are packaging the smoke in with it. It tends to be expensive if it has to generate it's own at a later date.
Music washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life.
OK... this has taken a while, mostly due to delays in getting some elements of our chassis sorted out, but we're very close now. Time for some more teasers...
Shown here is a row of Cardas RCA connectors, rhodium plated as discussed elsewhere on the forum.
This is the mainboard in our preamp which carries the dual power supplies (dual mono), right channel input connectors and selection, and seen in the background the switching logic. The construction stacks on top of this with the heart being a 32 step switched attenuator for each channel.
The signal passes through the equivalent of a just pair of vishay-dale resistors at any attenuator setting and a minimal fet stage.
There are no microprocessors in any of our products, we wanted a completely clean electronic environment internally. Even the lights go out in normal operation.
Componentry is all selected to be non-magnetic and the power supply and ground design is all based on new ideas.
This photo is the preamp mainboard from another angle showing the power supply section. This is fed by a 300VA toroidal transformer. The power supplies are fully regulated using a unique design that is extremely low in noise.
More teasing.
How about a shot of the complete exterior ?

Gary,
Why the choice of Rhodium plated connectors... possibly Cardas Rhodium over Silver type?
(Am playing around with RCA connectors on my phonostage at the mo, incl Rhodium & silver Cardas, which I have used for some yrs.)
Likely ballpark RRP of this preamp?
"Writing about music is like dancing about architecture."
Cardas RCAs, stepped attenuators, non-magnetic componentry, 300VA preamp PS.
I think I need a lie-down...

Yes, Cardas Rhodium over silver. Chosen for the conduction properties over the long term...
Ballpark RRP, not as yet. We've set some numbers with our overseas distributors but need to translate that to the NZ market in discussion with local retailers. But I can say, we have intended this to be a keeper, with long term reliability and back up. It will be moderately expensive, but the cost of ownership and the satisfaction quotient should more than make up for that.
