Contagion
Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard & Lawrence Fishburne star in this medical "thriller" about a deadly strain of swine flu that kills millions of people before a cure/vaccine is found.
The movie felt all over the place, never concentrating on any particular character or developing any aspect of the story to any great extent. Perhaps with such a strong cast, they all wanted their fair share of screentime so comprimises had to be made.
Fairly predictable stuff and a good demonstration of just how quickly and easily a contagious disease can/does spread.
Worth a watch (just), better than others I have sat through but little to no replay value
Shark Night
B grade horror set in a Louisianna salt lake(spelling?). Group of teens on vacation encounter some lake bound sharks and the sharks pick them off.
Is another 3d movie, in the same spirit as Pirhanna from a year or so ago, unfortunately, unlike Pirhana which never tried to be more than a b grade horror/comedy, Shark Night seems to want to box above its weight class, but just falls flat.
The sharks look bad, really bad, cgi from a decade ago, acting is woeful as would be expected and they have given the sharks super powers (eg keeping up with a jet ski at full throttle) just piss poor.
Could be more enjoyable in 3d, maybe. watch at your own perril

Carnage - Kate Winslet again, a brilliant comedic return to form for Polanski after the awful Ghost Writer.
A Week With Marilyn - worth every bit of praise it got, Williams is very good, Brannagh is brilliant.
