Ever notice that in many pictures (in magazine reviews, advertisements etc.) of CD players, the CD is placed in the tray label side down ? Excluding the obvious Pioneer Stable PLatter players of course.
Is this aversion to showing the label side an attempt to avoid the wrath of record companies who might take exception at such "unauthorised use" of their product ?
Curious...

Don't think so, Michael.
I've seen many CD player reviews that include the CD the label side up. Of course, the photographer usually chooses a CD with a nifty label.

Guess I should stop buying magazines that show pix like this.
:p

Michael,
that looks like a picture straight from Meridian's web site!

It is ;)
It's also the same pic they use in their print advertising.
And I know it's not a Pioneer upside stable platter design....

Michael, Michael, Michael....It's a photo from the Northern Hemisphere.
They play them like that up there.

Of course !
I should have known better, given all the pix I've seen of turntables designed to spin anti-clockwise and other Northern Hemisphere audio oddities.
Thanks Max.

Maybe that's how some of the reviewers listen to their tunes! By the musical taste of some of them, I don't blame them :p
