A very rare Westrex High frequency compression driver and horn for sale.
I would like to sell this amazing piece of gear in New Zealand or it will end up overseas. The driver appears similar to the Western Electric 731. I have done much research and not been able to clearly identify it. Westrex were a British off-chute of Western Electric developed to get around the post-war trade restrictions. They are reported to have used even better base materials than the Americans. The horn is similar to a JBL Acoustic lens 239. It is a cast alloy throat and metal lens.

The sound from this unit is excellent and it looks impressive. The old paint is falling off and I am in the process of removing the remainder. It then would be an easy job to repaint. Western Electric horn drivers sell for thousands - make me an offer and grab a once in a lifetime opportunity.
