Hey everyone,

Bit of an esoteric question. Does anyone know if I can get an female IEC to male "Figure 8" power plug adaptor in NZ?

Story goes: have SKY box (which takes a Figure 8 plug), have spare aftermarket power cord (with IEC plug), want to get adaptor to be able to use cord on SKY box. The cord's just sitting around doing stuff all, so I figure I may as well use it. I know I can order an adaptor for Russ Andrews, but I don't feel like paying over $40 for it once you add in the shipping, etc!

Anyone? Help!

Cheers,
Hamish.

You could re-terminate the cable with a fig 8?

Depends what you have in mind for it in the future though.

you could get rid of your tv.

or like LHH says, reterminate and use the IEC plug on another cable. good IEC plugs are hard to find, so don't waste in an adapter on the end of your sky adapter.

Yeah, in a perfect world I would... but then it's difficult to imagine a perfect world without the Super14 and live coverage of Le Tour de France.

Yeah, I'd rather not re-terminate just in case I end up with that nice REL sub or additional power amp I've been thinking of for the past while but am yet to be able to afford.

Thanks for your ideas though. Keep 'em coming.
