After nailing my colours to the wall on a couple of threads in this forum I have decided to share some info on my toys. We moved here from South Africa last year and our stuff arrived earlier this year. Since then I have been struggling to set the system up as well as I had it in SA but that is for a different forum. The system itself is about 7 years old now and while I feel could do with an upgrade (the seven year itch?) I can't as we need all our money to buy a house

I started off fresh out uni with a modest Pioneer/NAD/AR combo and was happily forced to upgrade when my Spirit 122's gave up the ghost

Turntable: NAD 533 with OM10 Super. Had to replace the original Goldring Elektra cartridge when someone damaged it. Tried an MC1 Turbo but this didn't seem to work very well with the Rega arm. So have now settled on an OM10 which is a reasonable solution for now

CDP: Marantz CD63 mkII KI Signature

Amp: Marantz PM66 KI Signature
These two just seem to work really well together. They like most kinds of music and are probably best suited to acoustic singer songwriter material that is not overly busy. Overall I find them articulate with excellent timing and ability to create a superb soundstage while sounding very musical. Don't think I could ask much more than that from a system.

Speakers: B&W CDM1SE's
As with the above these seem to like most kinds of music (with my diverse tastes thats important). The midrange is top class as is their dynamics. They are coupled to a set of custom made Eagle Audio Stands.

Finally everything is held together with Monster Interconnects and Monster Bi-Wire.

Cheers

When you're ready to upgrade the vinyl rig think about having Garrott Bros re-build the OM10 Super. After that maybe think about giving the Rega arm a new TT. If it's a Rega RB300 it will do justice to some very up-market machines .
The Marantz amp was/is a classic that should keep you happy for a long time. It's the very last thing I'd think of up-grading if I had the itch.
