The 9LA is a active 2 way speaker containing 60w amplification in each speaker, along with an internal USB DAC for use as a high end desktop speaker system. The 9LA also includes a 3.5mm input for use with iPods & other media players along with traditional RCA inputs for use with CD/DVD players TV's etc. The 9LA comes with a IR remote control for source selection & volume control.

The 9LA will initially be available in March in piano black finish. NZ RRP$1499pr - optional table stands, $140pr.

I think Quad needs to update its website. I can't see the 9LAs, the information on speaker finishes is sometimes wrong and it just feels unfinished.

Will be interesting to see how this model goes, I was really interested in the active quads but the huge amount of positive feedback of what I went for and the Optical input tilted me that way. If these sound as good as previous. These should sell very well :)

These guys are a bit smaller than your might ADM9.1s. They should do the trick though. A few powered speakers on the market with iPod docks embedded out there, but none with the same Quad brand pedigree...

No preamp though but then most systems such as sonos/squeezebox have a variable output if I'm not mistaken:o
