Hi,
Where do you buy your solder from. I have read mainly that silver solder is used by audioenz'ders - is there a specific type or type I should avoid?
Going to play around making some ic's.
Cheers.

Omegaspeedy has some views here.... He's found differences in solder types however in his case he was soldering tone arm wires so that means very low voltages indeed.
I use Jaycars silver solder.

You're better off getting a decent mechanical connection and getting a nice joint than worrying about specific solders.
having said that, James (Omegaspeedy) has reported differences in the sound of them, but as GT said he was using it in a very specific circumstance...

Hi fisher, as mentioned in my particular case I found a certain brand unsuccessful in a sensitive area but saying that I'm sure in other applications it would be excellent ie RCA cables or circuit boards. If you want to play it safe, 2.5% Cardas, Goot (Japanese brand), and an Australian 2.5% brand all worked well. The 3.8% brand was too bright for my liking in a tonearm wire circuit.
