Hi guys - I've got a Plinius CD-LAD that I recently bought that has a faulty vac display - in all other respects it is a perfect specimen, just that shortly after it is switched on, the display will show corrupt data such as rows of @@@@@@@@@@@ etc.
I've already taken the obvious routes, spoken with ex Plinius gurus from the era it was manufactured, and also tried to get some joy out of Plinius (zero response).
Anyone have any clues whether I could whip out the display PCB and send it to anyone to have a look at? I've also tried teh obvious fault finding on the PCB but no joy.
Just fishing as I've nothing to lose - and a happy new year - AJ

I sent my amp to Plinius for repair just before Christmas and was told that the repairs dept is back on deck on Monday, 9 Jan so that might be why you aren't getting any response from them?

About three years ago Plinius in Christchurch did some repairs to my amp. IIRC it took about four weeks to return and cost $400.00. The contact at the time was <aidan@pliniusaudio.nzld.com>

Thanks - appreciate that. I think it was him I spoke to when I recently bought a Hautonga. Have had no response so far to about 5 emails on the CD-LAD but if the repair bill looks like that it might just stay as it is, plus I'm in Sydney now so getting it back & forth will be a pain. I have it in bits again now doing some fault-finding and I've got a couple of things I'm working on.
Regards

Thanks guys - really appreciated the info. As it happened, I ended up sending the PCB to Plinius, who totally went out of their way to identify and fix the issue. I cannot speak more highly of the attention I got. Problem now resolved and I'm very happy
