I've just had a wander around Omegaspeedy's new website and I'd like to congratulate him on his efforts there.
Very easy to navigate , even for a gumby like me.Lovely photos of his new arm , and I suspect that it looks even better in real life.
Enough but not too much info on the site.
Well done James , I hope that this venture is very successful for you.Oh , the arm looks stellar!!

Always, although the $2K car service hasn't helped!

Off subject - those mechanics sure know how to charge - I personally think they charge more than a plumber, builder or electrician.

Hah, I always knew you were one of those evil dealer bastards , ripping us off and driving around in expensive Euro knob extensions ( :-) ) !! $2 K for a service?Mate , that's a lot of vinyl you won't be buying , or 2 of Omegas' arms ( just to keep vaguely on topic)

It actually ended up being $2575... sucks. Unfortunately for me I have a lowly WRX... but it was due for a cambelt/waterpump/trans/sparks/diffs/everything else service...
The service on the Aston is going to be really painful!

Don't service it then. Just sell and get a new one when service time comes around.A few overpriced Classics , Lebens and Levinsons but..you know what I'm talking about ;)

Cheers guys on my webpage, sorry about the increase in price, it simply had to happen to make the business viable. The guys who already had orders in will get it for the original price.
Neil $2500 for a service! ouch! Some, not all mechanics are criminals I think. I had a shock absorber leak in while I was getting a WOF. Go figure.

Like I said, I will get one of your arms James, when the funds are available. I think you've done a great job! Even at the new price its a steal.

Shite - and I thought that $2K for the 100K service on a S type R jag was expensive!. Or $3K for a 1000 hour service ( all fluids, incl 100L + of oil! ) on my tractor.

Buggar - the Lamborghini is due for its service in three weeks, and the 160ft yacht due for its annual 4 yearly refit!
After I win lotto:)

I did way more than just get it serviced though, a service is only a couple of hundred dollars or so... this was the works!

yeah, that being said, a 1000 hour service takes about 10 hours labor!.

Wow, had a look at your site. Fantastic work. Are there many arms made of wood? I have modified my rega arm with goovetracer counter balance which is beautifully made. it almost makes me want to go out and buy a lathe. By the way, that is the cleanest lathe I think I have ever seen.

[QUOTE=Willie;160281] Are there many arms made of wood?
Pete Riggle , Frank Shroeder( ?sp) , Joel Durand ( Telos , Talea) all make arms from wood. There will be more but I suspect these are the best known ( at least by me ;))

Scheu Tacco, Reed, Robert Fuchs...
But none IMO, appear to maximise the wood interface at both cartr & bearing contact ends of the arm wand, like this Apparition design.
