Steve Jobs in much, much younger days - taking minimalism to new heights in furnishings.

But he did has the important bases covered. Note what appear to be three-panel Acoustats in the room. Can anyone identify the turntable and amplifier on the floor? Of the front LP in the stack?

One of the most inspiring speeches you're likely to hear. Steve Jobs at the 2005 Stanford Commencement Address.

"Stay hungry. Stay foolish."

He was a true visionary....

The turntable looks like a Michell of some description maybe?

What Steve Jobs has brought to this world will be remembered for a long time to come.
But instead of being sad, maybe it's time to take some of Steve's advice and look forward to what the new generation at Apple will bring to the table.

A man ahead of time like most figures reveled by history. His contribution to the world will only be fully understood by the passage of time.

Nice link to the speech Micheal, wish I had the self belief to follow his advice!

Yes Sad indeed-I'm sure he would've traded his Billions for his health RIP.

That Pic is famous re the gear-- Interesting-I possibly disagree with Neil-I think the columns suggest something like an Oracle (opps sorry Apple!) as for the Amp--/Pre, if the latter with all those knobs the units that come to mind are the Roger Modjeskii RM's series/ Counterpoint and Rappaport of that time had a row visible like that.

Then again maybe a Receiver--but that many knobs?

Food for thought,

Des

Ah yes an Oracle would be a better choice!

A real nice guy and sad to see anyone this innovative pass regardless of his impact on the music world.

I would say that Steve Jobs did more for the music industry then the countless record company executives before him. He made MUSIC accessible to everyone and easily.
To suggest otherwise is spurious...

[...] Can anyone identify the turntable and amplifier on the floor? Of the front LP in the stack?

By some accounts:-

Early model Oracle TT
Klyne Audio Arts Pre with external PSU on the floor in front of the speakers
Acoustat Model 3 ESL speakers

And, of course, he subsequently ditched the entire system in favour of iPod Hi-Fi ...
