Tristar

Hi guys, back in nz for a few weeks and walked into a local small town golf club to see two pairs of bose 901's sat in the corner unused. Each pair had slightly different cabinets, dont know whether they were working or not but they looked in fairly good nick. Would they be worth anything ? I seem to remember them being quite a good speaker. Yet there they were each sat on their original stands!
The things you find in rural clubs eh!

Tristar ,there is a market for everything , they must have the Active EQ to be useful , I recently sold on Trademe an original American 901 with modded EQ and stands as a DIY project , still worked but looked ugly for $400.
The older ones had better cones , the newer ones with rubber surrounds are a bit of a nightmare the surrounds will perish so you'll need to check , approx replacement is around $40 each.
Hope that helps , most will heap scorn on these just for being Bose, but back in the day they were kind-of revolutionary , in my student days I enjoyed mine hung from the roof in an old villa , certainly filled the room with a big sound, which back then was all I cared about.
I think speaker tech has moved on from the 901 now , but still has it's place.
