Down they go again.
Leadership and vision they have lost again.

One man a company does not make. They still have Jonathon Ives.

While I'm naturally concerned for Mr Jobs's health, I'm not concerned about the future of Apple without him. In fact, I believe that Apple has gotten too big and powerful for its own good. Apple used to be all about 'thinking differently', but now it's 'do as we say - or else'. And they removed the optical drive from the Mac Mini!!!

Just my opinion.

I agree that one man does not make a company. His vision of sophistication through simplicity was something that the sector badly needed however, and innovation was driven to this end.

It will be interesting to see where Apple goes. Personally I have no problem with Apple continuing to operate the way they have. The only way to provide a polished product, in my opinion, is to have control over all facets of hardware, software and development. This remains a core problem for others in the industry.

As a strategist, I find it an incredibly laudable achievement for a vertically integrated firm to rise to the top against the huge PC ecosystem. You have to admire it. It is not very long since Apple was really struggling and their most profitable product line was reselling Office for Mac.

I know what I'd rather have in my kitchen, living room or desk.

Exactly.

Does Scarlett Johanssen count as an Apple based product?

I don't think they will go down at all.

Spot on. The whole open vs closed is BS. Latest McAfee report suggests Android has 76% more malware. iOS has none. Nothing wrong with an integrated approach to hardware and OS.

Yeah starting from a low base growth can be large but so what. If I start from 1 and sell another I have grown 100% but silll only sold 2. :D

er, it looks like he is on his death bed.
From the looks of the photos at the link below, he won't see the i-phone 5 being released :-(

Chatter among the Apple community suggests the photos may not represent how Jobs looks today - isn't it amazing what you can do with Photoshop?

Poor dude. Billionare or no, it sucks for anyone to have to go through this.

EDIT: Whether the pics are real or not, he can't be in a good way if he's resigned.

With over US$150+ billion in the bank, it's hard to see Apple hitting the skids minus Jobs – although I suspect Ken Kessler won't be shedding too many tears!
