RapalloAV’s Murray Thompson says Indigo Screens target home theatre enthusiasts looking for a quality, well-designed, medium-price front projection display.
“It seemed that most screen importers in New Zealand had their main focus on volume sales, low-priced screens which target schools, institutions, and the data projector market.
“We spent 12 months developing, refining and testing samples from around the globe. Only one came through with flying colours that we could easily distinguish as ‘separate from the rest’.
“At this stage the range is limited to 16:9 screens for the home theatre market, but in due course will expand to all formats and varieties.”
VistaView Motorised 16:9
Top of the range is the motorised VistaView. It comes in four sizes to suit most home cinema installations – 92, 106, 120 and 133 inches – and are priced from $1040.
They boast: CAD designed contemporary styling; full aluminum powder coated casing; a high-end tubular motor in roller with in-built controls; palm-sized RF remote control; unique V-shaped bottom bar that disappears into the main case; a special soft edge that eliminates noise and impact when closing; a fibreglass black-backed, washable matte white fabric gain 1.2-1.3; and multiple self-locking fixings for ceiling or wall.

The manual Nova comes in the same sizes, priced from $455.
It has a pioneering”slowdown locator” for precision closing, a CRS (Controlled Retracting Screen) device for easier, safer, smoother operation, and “Self Lock Plus” gearing that fixes the screen at any vertical position.

The Meteor Traveller is a portable, lightweight pull-up floor screen in two sizes — 80 and 92 inches — priced from $520.
Flip out the stabilising feet, extend the screen to the desired height using just one finger, and it’s ready for viewing in under a minute on the floor or a table, with enough black ”rise” to clear a tabletop.
